Word Splash Pro
Java Applet Help

The Java Apple lets you play puzzles created with Word Splash Pro on a web page.

NOTES

If the puzzle has a Note defined the note will display when the web page first appears. A scroll bar might be available on the right side of the applet if the note is larger than can fit on a single page. To start playing the puzzle you will need to press the PLAY button. You can return to the note by pressing the NOTE button again.

CIRCLING WORDS

To play your puzzle you must find the words in the word list and circle them. This is done by clicking the left mouse button on the first or last character of the word in the puzzle grid, and while keeping the mouse button down moving the entire length of the word and then releasing the mouse button. During this process the word will be highlighted. When you release the mouse button, if the word is correct, it will remain circled.

MUTE SOUND

If the puzzle has sounds the mute button found at the bottom right edge of the puzzle playing area just to the right of the About button can be used to toggle the sound on and off.

SCRAMBLED WORDS

Some puzzles may have the words in the word list scrambled. You can unscramble the words in the word list by first clicking on the scrambled word. A text entry area will appear. Type in the correct word and it will automatically update the list for you. You can also unscramble words by simply finding them in the puzzle grid.

QUESTION & ANSWERS

Some puzzles have questions instead of a word list. You may wish to type in the answers before finding the answers in the puzzle. To do so simply click on the line where the answer goes and a text entry area will appear. Type in the correct answer and the line will be updated. You can also simply search for the answer in the grid and circle it.

HIDDEN TEXT

Some puzzles will have text hidden in the uncircled characters. If text is hidden in the finished puzzle then the remaining letters will be marked so you can easily find them and a text entry area will appear. You must type in the text, adding spaced where appropriate, until you have typed in the entire answer correctly.

SOLVE

Some puzzles may have a SOLVE button. If you are playing a Question and Answer puzzle or a scrambled word puzzle then you may use the SOLVE button to solve a single line in the word list. To do so you must first click on the line in the word list you want to solve. Once it is marked you can then press the SOLVE button to see the solution.

Some puzzles will also allow you to use the SOLVE button to solve the entire puzzle. To do so simply press the SOLVE button without having any lines in the word list marked.

WINNING

You win when your solve the puzzle by circling all words in the grid and typing in any hidden text sentences if they exist. You will be notified and the page may jump back to the puzzle index.
